With the release of the Star Wars: Resistance teaser last week (here) just being the latest thin to divide fans (yes, it’s gotten that bad), we have another bit of news…
The series will feature General Leia Organa.
Leia, of course, was originally played – like we need to tell you this – by the late, great Carrie Fisher in the movies and now, given that the series will focus on Poe Dameron, it makes sense that Leia would feature in the series, given that the two of them were portrayed as friends in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Leia will be voiced by Rachel Butera, star of such shows as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Family Guy, who wrote on Twitter (below): “I can finally announce that I have the incomprehensible honor of voicing the role of Leia Organa in the new Star Wars Resistance out this October.”
It honestly makes sense that Leia will appear so honestly we’re not all that surprised… however, we wouldn’t envy anyone taking on the role after the death of Fisher.
Thoughts?
I can finally announce that I have the incomprehensible honor of voicing the role of Leia Organa in the new Star Wars Resistance out this October. Thank you @CESDTalent @DisneyLucasfilm @sternshow + Carrie Fisher. Sneak peak trailer here: https://t.co/4bVZW4Nvf6
