Stranger Things news round-up: Season 3, dancing Hopper, Senior photos… and Sesame Street?

October 31st, 2017 by Marc Comments

We’re still watching Stranger Things Season 2 (yes, we have other things outside the FTN offices, no, we’re not proud) and it’s bringing us all sorts of joy.

But before we go any further, it seems that season 3 of the hit Netflix show is already underway with show creators the Duffer brothers telling Deadline: “We’re starting on Season 3 now, it’s always the most difficult thing just to get those to build simultaneously. It’s always a challenge, and so we’re still learning. I mean, we’re trying to do this eight-hour, nine-hour movie so to get that pacing just right, you know, it’s always hard.”

This gives us much joy…

However, the show is bringing us joy on Twitter too as the cast – especially Hopper, David Harbour – are interacting with the fans and, frankly, doing great things.

First up, Harbour agreed to something unusual and, in typical fashion, the internet responded immediately and decisively:

“How many retweets for you take my senior photos with me,” Twitter user Damaris asked Harbour. And it went for there.

We’re confident there’ll be interesting images of Harbour in the near future…

If you’ve watched Season 2 of Stranger Things then you’ll have seen the cool scene when Chief Hopper does a little dance before going to work on his old family shack… and, as expected, the internet certainly noticed and suddenly dancing Hopper is the meme the internet needed… the videos below all feature Hopper dancing to different (fan added) songs. Enjoy:

(Continues after dancing videos)

Pretty soon the tweets caught the attention of the Stranger Things gang themselves with Noah Schnapp, who plays Will startinging the ball rolling before Hopper, David Harbour got in on the action too:

And finally… the Upside Down has come to Sesame Street. What’s not to love?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
