Teen Titans series adds two new heroes to its line-up

September 9th, 2017 by Marc Comments

We reported last week that the Teen Titans series, Titan, was looking to add new characters, in particular Hawk and Dove, and lo…

It looks like they have both been found.

Yes, Smallville’s Aquaman himself, Alan Ritchson  has been cast as Hawk AKA Hank Hall and Friday Night Lights’ star Minka Kelly will play his partner, both crime fighting and romantic, Dove AKA Dawn Granger.

Word is they will be recurring with a possibly full-team enlisting in Season 2 and may even be aimed for a spin-off series..

You might remember that Ritchson was favourite to play Shazam! in the upcoming DC Cinematic movie (here and here). We doubt that’s a thing now though.

Whatever happens, that’s five major characters cast in the Titan show (here). And yes, we’re stoked.

Are you?

Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever. The show will be written by Akiva Goldsman (Star Trek: Discovery, Underground), President and CCO of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns (The Flash, Arrow) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl). 24: Legacy‘s Anna Diop was recently cast as Starfire in the series.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
