More big casting news for the MCU tonight as it seems that one of the most ‘eyes on’ roles have been cast.
We’ve known for a while that Disney+ was set to bring us a Ms Marvel series and late last week we learned that Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon would be directing the series and now we have the name to go with the series as the titular hero.
Newcomer Iman Vellani will star as Kamala Khan, “a Pakistani-American teen based in New Jersey. Ms. Marvel first appeared in 2014 as Marvel’s first Muslim character to star in her own title, and she will become Marvel Studios’ first onscreen Muslim hero. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has said that in addition to appearing on the small screen, Kamala Khan will be included in future Marvel films.”
Certainly if you look at the image above and the young actress, left, there’s no denying she certainly has the look of Ms Marvel spot on.
It’s been a big few weeks for Disney+ announcements with the news that Tatiana Maslany was to appear as She-Hulk in her own series and also the surprise news that Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury is set to get his own series too.
So, there we have it, directors and star in place, we’ll keep you posted as and when more news appears
