Nowadays as people’s need for more when it comes to their favourite films, it seems as if the culture of film is moving towards home cinema and TV series rather than cinema itself.

Fargo, Ash vs Evil Dead, Minority Report, Limitless are now all films scheduled for a tv series. Even Marvel has started to expand their universe with TV and Netflix, with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Agent Carter, Daredevil and Jessica Jones all out along with the films. The list of movies to TV series’ seems to be endless.

It’s no surprise then that another film is set to be released on TV soon. Bong Joon Ho’s thriller Snowpiercer can now be added to the list.

Tomorrow Studios have optioned the 2013 movie for a full tv series. This series will base itself around the movie, meaning the stories and ideas will originate from the film not the original comic.

Although no casting has been announced, and therefore its unclear if the original cast will reprise their roles etc, Bong Joon-Ho will co produce the seires with fellow film producer Dooho Choi.

My name is Jonathan Snelling. I’ve been a movie fan for a long time now and last year completed a degree in Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University. It’s hard to choose a favourite film but I’ve always been a major fan of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga. I’m really interested to see how Ben Affleck does in Dawn of Justice as it's set to be an incredible film. I’m usually willing to see any genre but naturally some more so than others.
