FX have announced Banshee actress Amber Midthunder is joining the cast of their upcoming X-Men spinoff series, Legion.

Following the history of the ‘lost’ son of Charles Xavier, Legion already boasts Dan Stevens (formerly of Downton Abbey) as Legion aka David Haller, and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation) as co-lead. Midthunder joins toe cast in “a leading role” for the pilot. According to Deadline, she will play Kerry, “a woman who has a childlike sense of wonder but who is also ‘a true savant, [she] has lived a sheltered but never dull life’.

First appearing in New Mutants#25 in March 1985, David Haller is Charles Xavier’s illegitimate son who suffers severe  dissociative identity disorder where each personality has control of a different superpower. Exactly how FX and Marvel Television are going to handle this one is currently unknown, but it has potential. More info as soon as we know anything.

The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
