Faramir is signed on for Iron Fist.

Yep, the actor behind the character known to fans of the LotR movies as ‘Sean Bean’s brother’, David Wenham, is the third actor to have been officially cast for Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist series. Wenham has been cast as Harold Meachum, business partner to Danny Rand’s father and basically the man responsible for Rand’s parents’ deaths.

Marvel Studios’ head of television Jeff Loeb said that Wenham will bring ‘gravitas to the role, while showrunner Scott Buck added:

I’m very excited to have David as our Harold Meachum. David is capable of displaying raw, visceral strength as well as extremely keen intelligence. This will add up to a character of complex depth who will keep us off balance all season.

Marvel also released the image below, directly referencing that Meachum in the comics barely survived the ‘accident’ that claimed the lives of Rand’s parents.

Dave was born at an early age to parents of both sexes. He has been a self-confessed geek for as long as he can remember, having been raised through the 80s on a steady diet of Doctor Who, Star Trek, Red Dwarf and (sigh) Knight Rider. The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
