TV REVIEWS: FTN Reviews Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 7: Mr. Parker’s Cul-De-Sac

March 11th, 2020 by Todd Black Comments

Ah, Legends of Tomorrow, you never cease to amaze with how charming, amazing, crazy, and more you can be, and “Mr. Parker’s Cul-De-Sac” was another great example of this.

As we saw last week with the near-death of Constantine (who has chosen to stop smoking, which is comic accurate for those who care), Ray has decided to propose to Nora, and JUST when you think it’s going to go smoothly, who shows up but Damian Darhk! Honestly, we shouldn’t be that surprised that Astra brought him back because he’s definitely one of the greatest villains in the multiverse, but I do love how Legends of Tomorrow made sure to not forget what happened in Season 3 and such by having him be more concerned about his daughter than anything else.

That was one of the funnest bits about the Ray/Nora romance was that she came from the WORST possible circumstances, he came from this “optimism is everything” point of view, and dang it, they’re cute together! And I’ll stand by that to my dying day.

But the hilarity of Darhk thinking that she had enslaved the Waverider crew, was going to marry Constantine of all people (their banter was great together, I wish we could have it again), and on and on as Nora tried to have “one more night” with her father before breaking the illusion was fun.

Then, when her charge put them all into a Mr. Rogers ripoff, it just got even more wacky and funny (“Puppets, again?!?!).

Meanwhile, another ripple from Crisis hit Sara and Ava in a very fun way, Mick found out that the fling he had in the reunion episode led to him having a DAUGHTER, and more just made this episode infinitely more fun.

And then for Darhk to kill himself with the sword to save himself from torture and his daughter from worrying about him was a great moment.

Sadly, the next episode is the last for Ray and Nora (at present anyway, anything can happen in LOT), so hopefully they send them off with the honeymoon episode of a lifetime!

“Mr. Parker’s Cul-De-Sac” was everything you should expect from Legends of Tomorrow, and that’s why we love the show all the more.
