Things are certainly moving fast for the Supergirl series on CBS. We got confirmation that Supergirl has been cast, to be played by Melissa Benoist. And that Jimmy Olsen has been cast in the show as well.

Now, it appears part of the plot for the pilot has been revealed, via the villain Kara will facing in it:

“Kara Danvers née Zor-El will have her work cut out for her from the get-go, seeing as her adversary in the series pilot will be the DC Comics baddie Lumberjack. To that end, the CBS freshman is seeking a hulk akin to “Rory McCann, the 6-foot-6 actor from Game of Thrones” [to] play this “big, burly monster of a man, who has battled Kara’s cousin “in the past” and shows up to ascertain her level of power, on behalf of an unseen superior.”

Did you catch that line referring to Superman? That’s one of the biggest questions revolving around this series is the possible involvement of Superman. This definitively confirms that Superman is in this universe in some capacity. But to what extent could we see him?

The involvement of Lumberjack in interesting, as he’s a lesser-known DC villain. Which is could work in the series favor, we’ll just have to see.
