WATCH: Christopher Eccleston sends friends a wedding message… as The Doctor

September 10th, 2018 by Marc Comments

Well, it’s not exactly canon but we’ll take it… Christopher Eccleston is back as The Doctor!

The actor who fronted the return of the series in 2005 lasted one series and is still arguably the best of the new Doctors, and there is still scarcely a year goes by that someone doesn’t talk about him coming back…

And now we have him back albeit to give abuse to one of his friends who didn’t invite him to the his wedding!

“That’s just typical,” Eccleston says (in character as The Doctor).

“You fall in love, you get married, you’re really happy, and me, the Doctor, who’s saved the universe god knows how many times, doesn’t get an invite.”

“Doesn’t. Get. An invite. Typical of you apes, isn’t it?”

But before signs off he shows his true feelings for the couple, wishing them all the best in their big day: “My two hearts are beating as one for you today. Congratulations on your wedding day, and I won’t be there in the blue box, but I will be there in spirit.”

Man, we miss him in the TARDIS….

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
