WATCH Doctor Who fan-favourite Osgood returns in new mini adventure

May 12th, 2020 by Marc Comments

If there’s one fandom that’s been doing really well in the current lockdown, it’s the Doctor Who one.

Since this all began we have been having regular watchalongs on Twitter, Bg Finish have been giving us weekly free audio adventures and we have also, to go with the watchalongs, been getting great bonus content.

And the latest one features fan favourite Petronella Osgood, played by the lovely Ingrid Oliver, starring in an adventure written by Peter Harness.

In the mini-episode, called The Zygon Isolation, Osgood holds a discussion with her Zygon self called which saw the character hold a Zoom meeting with her Zygon self.

During the mini-episode, which was titled The Zygon Isolation, Osgood received a message from the Doctor, in which she outlined that she was also self-isolating and claimed she had “never felt so bored”.

The episode was used to introduce the watchalong of series nine episodes The Zygon Invasion and The Zygon Inversion.

Osgood first appeared in the 50th anniversary special The Day of the Doctor in 2013, and while she appeared in other episodes, eventually coming to a bad end, she was – and likely remains – a fan favourite and would be a fans’ choice to be a companion in the TARDIS.

David Tennant’s series four episode The Fires of Pompeii is the next in the watchalong series next Sunday, 17th May at 7pm with writer James Moran and stars Francesca Fowler and Tracey Childs tweeting along.

Check out the episode below.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
