With The Witcher Season 2 currently hitting big on the streamer, we’re also looking forward to animated movies and more family-friendly content too (here) and the news that Henry Cavill is standing down from the roll after season 3 (here), we now have a new look at Michelle Yeoh, Laurence O’Fuarain and Sophia Brown in the trailer for prequel limited series Blood Origin.
This looks like a lot of fun and, while I’ve not finished season one of the main show yet, I have enjoyed what I have seen and I’m pretty excited to deep-dive into the universe as soon as I get that chance.
It looks like Cavill’s stepping down to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth is not going to slow Netflix’s developing of the Witcher franchise and I have to respect that.
Set in an elven world 1200 years before the time of Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, The Witcher: Blood Origin will tell a tale lost to history: the creation of the first prototype Witcher, and the events that led to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.
This four-part prequel series premieres on Netflix on December 25th, Christmas Day.
