While the Child’s Play franchise was rebooted on the big screen last year (here) we knew that, dueto messy ownership rights, the original series of movies would also continue in some form (here).
And now we know exactly how.
SYFY and USA have just revealed the teaser for the Chucky series and, while it shows very little, it does confirm that yes, this is definitely the original Chucky, with Brad Dourif returning as the demonic doll and, just as cool, Jennifer Tilly is back too as the bride of Chucky, Tiffany.
As for the story, here’s what we know: “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins.”
The tease of characters from Chucky’s past is interesting as he has crossed a lot of people over the course of his seven movies.
No release date for the series yet, but we’ll be watching. Will you? Let me know, gang.
