Well, that’s the end of Jodie Whittaker’s first series in the TARDIS and it was a mixed bag to day the least.
But at the end of the episode we got a brief teaser for Resolution, the New Year’s Day episode that saw the Doctor telling an unseen enemy that earth was protected by her and her mates (quite reminiscent of Matt Smith’s speech at the end of his first episode as the Doctor, The Eleventh Hour) and that was it… literally a few seconds.
However, after the show had aired a new trailer dropped which sees the Doctor talking about the most evil force in the universe and when she’s asked if it has a name… well, watch the teaser below to find out. You may want to read here after you watch it and beware: SPOILERS.
On top of this, the BBC announced that Doctor Who would not be returning next year for a full series, but rather would be back early in 2020.
So it’s a long wait for fans… but the good news is that all the cast are returning:
Series 11 marked a brand new era for Doctor Who with Showrunner, Chris Chibnall, taking control of the TARDIS. With Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor, viewers saw the Doctor and her friends travel through space and time on adventures fighting monsters and conquering battles. Series 12 will see Jodie reprise her role as the Doctor and she will once again be joined by Bradley Walsh (Graham), Mandip Gill (Yasmin) and Tosin Cole (Ryan).
