Netflix has long since passed the point of gaining credibility and is now one of the most respected ways to get your show to an audience. Many big name actors, writers, producers and studios have attached themselves to work with this titan of entertainment.

The latest big name to be recruited to this group is Winona Ryder.

Ryder is currently scheduled to join a supernatural thriller (under the working title of Montauk). The show is being shepherded by the Duffer Brothers (Wayward Pines) and has a series order for eight episodes.

The show centres on the disappearance of a boy in the 80s. Ryder plays the boy’s mother, who attempts to discover his fate, but wanders into a conspiracy, involving government agencies and supernatural forces.

I will admit, I always enjoy a good mystery show with a supernatural twinge to it. I will probably be keeping a close eye on this show to see how it shapes up. Ryder’s casting can only help get the show the attention it (hopefully) will deserve.
