What?! There’s a third and final season of Hilda coming!?
Yes, the hit Netflix animated series based on Luke Pearson’s graphic novels about a young girl and her friends who come up again supernatural freidns and enemies on a regular basis… think Trollhunter meets Harry Potter, it’s really rather great.
Myself and my kids found the series during the madness of covid and it became our lunchtime watch, them homeschooling and me working from home, and it was so much fun and when the movie came out in 2021, we assumed it was the end of the story… until now.
Taking to Twitter, creator Pearson revealed that the third and final season arrives on December 7th on Netflix and I can think of no better Christmas present to myself and my kids to watch over the festive season… kind of apt, given the show’s Scandinavian folklore origins.
Chantal Ling Vice President, Original Series & Co-Productions, Mercury Filmworks. said: “While it is always tough to see the end of a series that has been so professionally gratifying, we are thrilled to showcase the latest epic adventures of our heroine Hilda in this final season at the Ottawa International Animation Festival and for audiences around the world to be entertained when the series premieres on Netflix later this year.”
Happy Christmas, Hilda fans!
Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
