So here we all are, waiting for Star Trek to return to the small screen and it seems this may just be the beginning of a new Trek resurgence. Or something.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan writer/director Nicholas Meyer, who is also consulting producer and writer for the upcoming CBS All Access Show Star Trek: Discovery has been talking about his work on Star Trek and how there is so much in the Trek universe now compared to what there was when he did Kahn and how it all may be too much to get through for new stories:
“I think that is fair. What I can say is that when Bryan Fuller invented Star Trek: Discovery and conceived it, he found a niche in the chronology that allows for another stream,” said Meyer.
However, interestingly, Meyer hinted that Discovery isn’t the only Trek project he’s involved in, having “signed the Official Secrets Act,” Meyer said: “One thing that has nothing to do with Discovery is that I am working on another Star Trek project, but I can’t discuss that either.”
While Meyer did again confirm his working on another Trek project he would reveal nothing at all about what it was… it could be a new series, a movie, a book, a making off, a documentary, who knows? What we do know is that Meyer and Trek go very well together.
What do you all think?
