More news coming down the wire today with Helen Slater rumored to be returning to reprise her role as Supergirl.

Helen Slater is the original Supergirl staring in the self-titled film back in 1984.

Since then more recently she has played the mother of Supergirl in the CW’s Supergirl series. Now, this may seem like an issue to some seeing as how she’s already in the show, however with Brandon Routh also reprising his role as Superman while also playing the role of The Atom from DC’s Legends of Tomorrow there’s lots of possibilities for them to bring her in.

Talking about Helen as Supergirl, writer and producer Mark Guggenheim had this to say: “I happen to love the Supergirl movie and I remember the first time I saw it. I would love for her to reprise her role. We’re feeling out a lot of various parameters in terms of what we can afford and what do we have story for? can this be a cameo? can this be a full on story?”

Not only are we looking at another Supergirl but there are also talks about bringing some of the Smallville cast into the cross-over spectacular. Basically if you can think of a DC movie or TV series that’s been done, then odds are they’re trying to get someone from it. I can’t wait to see what other surprises they’re gonna bring.
