SDCC: Crytex unveils more details about Ryse: Son of Rome for XBox One

Rome is calling, it’s time to Ryse.

At this year’s San Deigo Comic-Con Microsoft Studios and Crytek revealed more details from there upcoming launch title Ryse: Son of Rome including the pivotal characters you will be encountering during your journey.

During the panel, director of cinematics Peter Gornstein and producers Michael Read and Justin Robey revealed new storyline information, showed off some new artwork depicting the characters you will come across in the game and showed how SmartGlass has been intergrated into the game.

In the game you will take control of Mariuse, a Roman soldier who witnesses the murder of his family at the hands of some bandits, he then travels with the Roman army to Britannia to seek revenge. On his journey he rises through the ranks of the army to ultimately lead a group of soldiers to get vengeance.

During your journey you will come across other characters including Vitallion, a wise and charismatic general who has served Rome for decades and has fought in many campaigns, Nero who is the emperor of Rome itself and feels threteaned by rivals who want to take control of Britannia, Commodus and Basillius who are the sons of Nero and live to the extreme by having gladiators kill each other and then take all their slaves, Boudica who is the daughter of King Oswald, she can’t stand the torture what her father puts their people through and ultimately wants to change everything.

Ryse: Son of Rome will be released exclusively for the Xbox One at launch
