With Blade Runner still being one of my favourite worlds, I’m loving the current wealth of stuff we’re getting, from animated shows to comics, to an upcoming live-action series Blade Runner 2099 (currently on hold, sadly) and now…  a new video game.

Annapurna Interactive has revealed the teaser trailer, below, for Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth which is the first Blade Runner game since 1997! Which I have just learned is on the PS Store, so I’ll be having that very soon.

Ridley Scott reveals details of planned Blade Runner 2099, a new live-action series

Based on the hit movies, rather than Philip K. Dick’s iconic novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, the new game is so far a mystery but we do know that it takes place after the in-universe Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 animated short by Cowboy Bebop’s Shinichiro Watanabe and before the events of Denis Villeneuve’s brilliant Blade Runner 2049.

We’re still not sure where Soldier fits in if we’re being honest.

Jodie Comer to join Blade Runner 2099 series along with Game of Thrones director

“Set between the original film and 2049, Blade Runner 2033 takes place after the events of the Black Out and asks: what does a Blade Runner do when there are no Replicants left to hunt?”

The game will be available on PC and consoles but there’s no word on when we’re getting to jump into the Blade Runner universe again.

Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
