WATCH: Kevin Conroy reads new Batman: The Animated Series comic for fans online

April 10th, 2020 by Marc Comments

While we all have our favourite takes on Batman (Ben Affleck) and Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton), there’s few will argue about how big a dent voice actor Kevin Conroy made on the character when he began playing him in the now iconic Batman: The Animated Series in 1992.

From there Conroy has voiced the character in animated movies, the Arkham Game and even played him in live-action in last year’s Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event on The CW (he nailed it there too, in case you’ve not seen it).

And now, since we’re all currently in lockdown, the star has decided to do something new and fun… by reading the new Batman: The Animated Series comic book from DC. The new book, Batman: The Adventure Continues, saw its first issue hit shelves this week and the star last night took to DC’s Instagram to narrate the latest adventure penned by Batman: The Animated Series co-creators Alan Burnett and Paul Dini and you can watch it below:

BATMAN THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE #1 (OF 6)
(W) Paul Dini, Alan Burnett (A) Ty Templeton (CA) Dave Johnson
From the visionary producers of Batman: The Animated Series come all-new stories in this seminal animated world. In this opening chapter, Wayne Enterprises in Gotham City is attacked by a giant robot that steals an entire room from the laboratory. Who’s controlling the robot? How will Batman stop the mechanized menace? And what does it all have to do with Lex Luthor’s sudden appearance in Gotham?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
