Kathleen Kennedy has been speaking to EW about the future of Star Wars once the last planned film is released in 2019.

At present we have Rogue One: A Star Wars Story coming next month, Star Wars: Episode VIII arriving next December, the Untitled Han Solo movie in May 2018, with Star Wars: Episode IX released in 2019, but what comes after this?

“That’s a conversation going on right now, too,” the Lucasfilm president said. “I have to honestly tell you, could we [do nothing but stand-alones]? Sure. But I don’t know. We are looking at all of that…There are [possible movies] that we have been talking a lot about but we are planning to sit down in January, since we will have had The Force Awakens released, now Rogue One, and we’ve finished shooting Episode VIII.

“We have enough information where we can step back a little bit and say, What are we doing? What do we feel is exciting? And what are some of the things we want to explore?”

The article also talks about the planned Boba Fett film which was to be directed by Josh Trank but it seems this has been shelved.

No word on any planned Obi-Wan movie which Ewan McGregor is up for as are most fans. If your listening Lucasfilm, please make this happen.

Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
