Best Romantic Movies to watch in 2022

September 16th, 2022 by The Nerd Comments

Though it is not Valentine’s Day, every day is a special day with the right person and you must celebrate wholeheartedly. How many of you agree? I am sure, most of you. And how can the celebration be done? Some of you might go for a dinner date, or for shopping while others would like to stay home and watch a nice, romantic movie. If you are one of those people, this post is for you.

This article talks about some of the best romantic movies to watch this weekend with your loved one.

Sounds romantic? Of course, it does!

Let us get started then.

It just clicked our mind that a romantic partner is not the only thing you might need to make this date night a success; you must also have a reliable internet connection to watch the perfect movie on love and romance. That is where Spectrum deals comes for the rescue. What is that? If you are looking for affordable internet deals and packages with the best speeds, Spectrum is definitely the option for you. You can thank us later.

Below are the top romantic movies to watch with your lover:

  1. Runway Bride

Richard Gere and Julia Roberts are a ’90s rom-com duo for a reason. They returned as Marshall’s central couple to root for nine years after they starred together in Pretty Woman. In Maggie’s fourth and hopefully final wedding, Roberts is simply swoon-worthy as Maggie, a woman who has left three men at the alter in the past. Gere is equally swoon-worthy as Ike, a reporter assigned to cover Maggie’s story. Maggie’s fourth fiancee, Bob (Christopher Meloni), is no match for Gere/Roberts’ chemistry, and his sports metaphors are no match for their mutual attraction.

  1. Silver Linings Playbook

Brad Cooper plays Pat Solitano, a bipolar man moving back in with his parents after being discharged from a psychiatric hospital. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for this Oscar-winning romantic comedy-drama. Having met a young widow named Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), who also suffers from mental health issues and is determined to take part in a dance competition, he becomes obsessed with rekindling his relationship with his estranged wife. A deal is struck by the two to help each other achieve their goals, but along the way they discover so much more about themselves. It is indeed the perfect watch for a date night.

  1. When Harry Met Sally (1989)

We’re having what Sally is having. A modern classic about best friends who try to test their theory that you can’t make out with your friends through a long period of time. It is the most loved romantic movie of its generation, written by Nora Ephron and directed by Rob Reiner and ranked 23rd among all American comedies by the American Film Institute. Before the clock strikes twelve, all is summed up by a famous declaration of love.

  1. Set it Up

Who doesn’t like a modern comedy starring one set of hot people? In a modern, fun romantic comedy, those hot people set up another hot couple!

The two actors play the assistants of two powerful singles (Lucy Liu and Taye Diggs), working together to get their bosses to date so they can relax. It isn’t as easy as it may appear to make two people fall in love, and it isn’t easy either to resist the charms of your partner. A perfect, light and cuddly date movie is what Set It Up is all about. There’s a bit of Pete Davidson too.

  1. Always Be My Maybe

One of the most exciting things about a new romance is its novelty. Is it possible that one of your earliest relationships is the source of your truest love? A pair of childhood best friends lose touch in their teens, but find their way back to each other as adults in Ali Wong and Randall Park’s film Always Be My Maybe. As deliciously cozy as a bowl of Mom’s kimchi jjigae – and just as satisfying – Always Be My Maybe also features Daniel Dae Kim, James Saito, and Keanu Ree.

  1. The Holiday

Among the biggest myths known to man is that The Holiday is just a Christmas film. This romantic classic is full of enough charm, charisma, and cheesy moments to outlive the entire Christmas season. As a way to recover from and escape their miserable love lives back home, Iris (Kate Winslet) swaps houses with Amanda (Cameron Diaz) across continents. They discover, instead, that a new romance and a new hope have begun. Get a cup of hot chocolate and watch this movie no matter the season.

  1. Moonlight

Moonlight by Barry Jenkins is an Academy Award-winning film, but the story of Chiron is driven by his love for Kevin spanning decades. In the movie, Blackness and masculinity are woven into the story as the two boys fall in love, then separate, then reunite again in one of the most romantic scenes of 2016 – Kevin making Chiron dinner at his diner. Chiron’s hard exterior gives way to a soft, nervous desire to show his feelings as Barbara Lewis’ “Hello Stranger” plays on the jukebox. What could possibly be more romantic?
