Jack Stanley to write Chronicle 2

April 1st, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

It was reported last year that Chronicle screenwriter Max Landis had left the 20th Century Fox sequel. Today Deadline reports that the studio has brought in screenwriting newcomer Jack Stanley to tackle the followup to the 2012 hit movie directed by Josh Trank.

The original film, which starred Michael B. Jordan, Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell and Michael Kelly, told the story of three high school students who make an incredible discovery, leading to them developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities, and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.

Landis had previously mentioned that director Josh Trank was never attached to the Chronicle sequel and likely won’t return, due to his commitment to the upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four.
