If the truth is going to be told, when it comes to Aquaman, you’re in one of two camps. You either like him, or you think he’s a joke . As for me? I KNOW how awesome Aquaman can be, so when i heard that he was getting a solo film in the upcoming DC slate, I was pumped. And I’m now really excited because of Jason Momoa, who will play Aquaman in the films, also loves Aquaman.

“Aquaman is especially cool,” says the former “Game of Thrones” star , “because, being a Kanaka Maoli—being Hawaiian—our Gods are Kanaloa and Maui, and the Earth is 71 percent water, so I get to represent that. And I’m someone who gets to represent all the islanders, not some blond-haired superhero. It’s cool that there’s a brown-skinned superhero.”

That right there is actually pretty huge, as Aquaman’s look has rarely changed in the comics. Though this seems like a logical change, and one that will benefit the actor. That’s not the only thing Momoa is excited for though, he’s pumped to be in the Justice League.

“It’s awesome as an actor to know what your future is going to be,” Momoa continues,“because I have children and I’ve busted my ass to put food on the table. It’s awesome knowing that I’m going to be in ‘Justice League’ because my son is the biggest Batman fan and my daughter loves Wonder Woman. It’ll be cool for them to see me in something, because they’re not going to be watching ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘Red Road’ anytime soon, but now they can see Daddy kicking ass in IMAX.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is slated to hit theaters on March 25, 2016. Justice League: Part One is then set to follow on November 10, 2017 with the solo Aquaman hitting July 27, 2018 before Justice League: Part Two arrives on June 14, 2019.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
