Josh Brolin has some bad intentions with a hammer in new Oldboy still

Josh Brolin looks ready to pound his point home in this new still from Spike Lee‘s Oldboy remake. The latest from the web is that the hammer fight scene in this film is going to be even more brutal and intense than in the original film, and that Brolin did it himself with no stunt double. That sounds awesome, but the downside is I’m hearing overall the movie is not that good.

“OLDBOY follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement without any indication of his captor’s motive. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment. His quest for revenge leads him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Elizabeth Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.”

The Spike Lee movie stars: Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Samuel L. Jackson, Richard Portnow, Michael Imperioli, Max Casella, Elvis Nolasco, James Ransone, Hannah Ware, Caitlin Dulany, Linda Emond, and Grey Damon.

The movie releases on November 27th, 2013 in the U.S. and on December 6th, 2013 in the U.K.
