Noah Hawley to write and direct Chris Pine’s next Star Trek movie…

December 13th, 2019 by Geralt of Australia Comments

Alongside JJ Abrams, Paramount Pictures are currently in talks for Noah Hawley to write and direct the next Star Trek movie featuring Chris Pine.

Noah Hawley is one of my favorite writers having recently written for one of my favourite TV shows, Marvel’s Legion.

Now, we haven’t had a new Star Trek movie since since 2016 with Star Trek Beyond, honestly it wasn’t my favourite out of the Christ Pine trilogy, that would go to Into Darkness (if you haven’t seen it it’s basically the new Wrath of Khan), Beyond just lost me with that terrible motorbike scene, I think you know which one I’m talking about.

We know that the development of this movie was a bit of a crazy ride with the most recent rumour being that Quentin Tarantino was keen to bring Star Trek into the sphere of more adult sci-fi (here) and before that all future Treks had been cancelled as both Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth had walked from the production but now it seems Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban are all returning. Oh, and Tarantino’s movie is still on the planner.

Hopefully Noah at the helm of this outing will mean some good changes along the way and hopefully the next movie in the franchise can bring back everything that the last one lost, mainly decent writing and special effects

Stay tuned for more new folks, stay nerdy and live long and prosper.
