So according to Deadline, Marvel has started to get a cast list together for Doctor Strange and Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch are on it. They add that others are in the mix as well. The plot thickens.

Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created the Stephen Strange in 1963 as a neurosurgeon who serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats, with powers of sorcery, mysticism, and martial arts.
Although no release date for Doctor Strange has been announced, Marvel has two placeholder dates set for unknown projects on July 8th, 2016 and on May 5th, 2017.
