RUMORS & SPOILERS: Palpatine will return for Episode VII but not as a clone

August 14th, 2013 by Edwin Torres Jr 2 Comments

Just this Monday we shared a rumor that Ian McDiarmid is set to return to a galaxy far far away in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII. Well today Latino Review is adding to that rumor. According to their source, Palpatine will make his return as a Force ghost. (Sith Lords learned similar techniques, which in some cases allowed them to physically interact with their environment.)
But that’s not all if you don’t want possible spoilers stop here!!!

They also reveal that Emperor Palpatine had an apprentice before his death.

In addition the story will not be following any books. Not one thing in the script is from any book.

Despite conflicting information, there are known Sith Force ghosts but they are usually bound to an artifact or location. I must admit I wouldn’t mind the appearance of Palpatine ( I prefer a holocron though) as I think it would serve as a call to arms for our heroes. Han, Chewbacca, Luke, Leia, and maybe Lando would feel that it was their loose end to wrap up. The hidden apprentice thing has been done ( Ahsoka, Galen). Why not have it be an Emperor’s Hand or something along those lines?

Let us know what you think about these latest rumors?

We’ll keep you updated as we find out more.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set to begin filming early next year in the U.K. for a Summer 2015 theatrical release, it will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a script by Michael Arndt.

As a fan of both the movies (Original trilogy mostly) and avid reader of the expanded universe, all I can say is, they have the chance to create a whole new parallel universe, the books have created a wonderful universe for fans (at least the ones that have read it) and it we love it that’s why we read it, I’ve lost all hopes of seeing any of it on the big screen so it shall stay on my “mind screen” if you will, I only hope that they do enough research on fans and hear them out and that the script, actors and dialogs are up to our standards and that of the movie’s fans. They can create a whole new world for us to awe over they have the time and money and enough experienced story tellers on their team I have high hopes for them and I hope that on the day I see the movie I come out hoping that they make an extended version of it for it was that good! and not thinking I’ll just get the dvd version of it.
