Aquaman image reveals Atlanteans on Great White Stars and Seahorses and it is awesome! Plus Orm’s motives revealed Trailer debut date revealed

We’re reported on some awesome new images from Aquaman which arrived online yesterday (here) and, as expected, the Aquaman news just keeps coming!

Actor Patrick Wilson, who plays Orm, leader of Atlantis and half-brother of Aquaman (Arthur Curry), said of his character’s motivation: “He’s kind of an eco-warrior.”

“He’s got a very clear gripe with the surface world, which has been polluting his oceans for centuries. And that’s something for me — I’m sure for you too — that’s very easy to understand. If somebody was just constantly polluting our air and ruining how we lived …”

Director James Wan added more to this: “Patrick is such a talented actor and a chameleon as well, he can disappear into any role.”

“Orm’s got a soft spot for his brother who lives on the surface world and if anything just wants him to rule Atlantis and the world together, but his brother doesn’t see it that way. A lot of the clashes they have stem from their different upbringings. So I didn’t want to cast a typical villain actor.”

The best villains are always the ones on a noble cause.

On top of all this, James Wan himself has tweeted out the new logo for Aquaman (noticeably brighter) and reveals that the trailer (which we hoped was landing this week) was debuting at SDCC…

The first image released by EW is concept art of Atlanteans under massive statues of the leaders of the seven seas:

The second image is a still from the movie and go. My. God!

They’re riding great white sharks and seahorses (seas dragons?)… and it’s simply fantastic!

Aquaman opens on December 21st, 2018.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
