Beautiful Joker: Folie à Deux poster and audio clip arrive ahead of Trailer on April 9th

We have a poster for Joker: Folie à Deux and it’s a thing of beauty!

Featuring Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn, the poster has a beautiful classic Hollywood movie look and feel.

Of course, the musical feel is entirely apt given that we have learned the movie will be a ‘jukebox musical’ – this means it will feature music and dance numbers that are currently in the public’s mind ala Mama Mia.

Brendan Gleeson signs on for Joker: Folie à Deux and we’re very excited about it

Variety reported recently that a source told them that “it integrates at least 15 reinterpretations of “very well-known” songs… however, there is a door open for an original song (or two) to be added to the final version.

“Details regarding who would pen the tracks, or sing the numbers are unknown. We do know, according to sources, Hildur Guðnadóttir, the Oscar-winning composer of the first Joker film, is said to “infuse her distinctive, haunting [music] cues” into each number.”

The first movie took the world by storm and was a phenomenon unlike few movies before it and, on top of that, it’s a damned good movie – I really hope the sequel can capture that lightning again and it looks like we’ll have our first real taste on Tuesday as the trailer drops then [April 9th].

But for a little taste, this short sample of Lady Gaga’s voice as Harley has made its way onto the interwebs.

See you all here on Tuesday, movie fans.

The film will be released in theaters on October 4, 2024. Five years after the first movie.
