A while ago we learned that actress Charlize Theron wasn’t returning as Furiousa in the Mad Max spin-off and we were a bit annoyed about the whole thing (here) but it seems we need not have worried.
The actress, currently on our screens in Fast 9 as the big bad Cipher, has a busy couple of years ahead.
Vin Diesel has confirmed that, like Hobbs and Shaw, the next Fast & Furious spin-off will be based on Cipher… we’re assuming Theron will return to star in the movie… but we’re not ruling out that we could see a younger version of the character as we do with Dom and the gang in the aforementioned Fast 9.
Currently Diesel “has writers working” on developing the movie based on the cyber-terrorist played by Theron.
And that’s all we know as of now.
Personally, I love this franchise and the idea of the universe spinning off further and further is just fine by me.
Adding to this, Theron herself has confirmed that Netflix’s hit, The Old Guard, which starred Theron as Andy has a script and will be filming early next year. She also confirmed that she will be returning along with Marwan Kenzari’s Joe and Luca Marinelli’s Nicky.
The original movie starred Theron as part of a team of immortal warriors. It was a lot of fun and a sequel would certainly be welcomed.
