Check out Poe’s new X-Wing fighter from Star Wars: The Last Jedi

September 4th, 2017 by Marc Comments

Not the most exciting bits of news for sure, but it IS a great image.

Empire Magazine has released this cool new image of Poe Dameron’s (Oscar Isaac) new X-Wing fighter – an Incom-FreiTek T-70, codenamed Black One – and, while we can’t get a look at the front of the chip, the back looks awesome… and is that a new thruster in the middle?!

According to Rian Johnson [The X-Wing has] been specially modified by Resistance engineers, with a temporary accelerator pod affixed to the aft section. According to The Last Jedi director, the pod, when primed, increases Dameron’s speed, allowing him to outrun First Order cannon emplacements. It’s just a temporary boost and will burn out quickly but it’s enough to get beyond the barrage of turbo laser fire from First Order Star Destroyers such as the one depicted in the image.

And speaking of Star Destroyers, is that Snoke’s new Mega Class Star Destroyer, The Supremacy (here)? We reckon it is…

Check out the image below:

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be coming to our galaxy on December 15th

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
