Christina Hendricks signs on to horror sequel The Strangers 2

May 11th, 2017 by Marc Comments

So, I found out two things while writing this article.

Firstly, Christina Hendricks – star of Mad Men, Firefly, Drive and, em, Bad Santa 2 – has a career that was very promising but is quickly going to hell.

Secondly, looking for images of her can make for a very distracting time.

Anyway, I digress.

Bloom has announced that they are moving ahead with The Strangers 2, the sequel to the pretty effective scarer The Strangers from 2008 and the movie will star Hendricks along with Bailee Madison (Once Upon a Time, Just Go with It), and Lewis Pullman (Aftermath, Battle of the Sexes).

It starts filming on May 30th in Los Angeles.

There’s no release date for the movie yet but we’re wondering if it’s really a movie anyone has been waiting for almost ten years after the original.

Let us know your thoughts…

Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, 47 Meters Down) will direct based on a script by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers, The Monster) and Ben Ketai. The Fyzz Facility Pictures’ Wayne Marc Godfrey (Wind River, The Foreigner), Robert Jones (Centurion, The Usual Suspects), Mark Lane & James Harris (47 Meters Down, I Am Not A Serial Killer) are producing, in association with Relativity Media. The Fyzz Facility are also serving as financiers on the project. Aviron will be distributing the film in the U.S. and Canada.

The Strangers 2 follows a family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park and after the power goes out they decide to hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer. Under the cover of darkness three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
