It looks like DC/Warners are planning on focusing on the team side of the DC universe moving forward with their movie slate if new rumours are to be believed.
SPOILERS ABOUT JUSTICE LEAGUE:
At the end of Justice League we see Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke meet up with Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, with them establishing that with the Justice League being a thing they should form a villainous league of their own.
And while many believed it would be the Injustice League, it appears it may be the Legion of Doom!
This isn’t the first time we’ve believed this was being hinted at, as anyone who read this story will know: could we be set for a threat that will run throughout the DC universe in the form of the Legion of Doom?
The new report from El Fanboy says “Legion of Doom is happening. Not an LOD movie, but building towards the team. Watch Manganiello. He has pretty much been blatant.” This is probably a reference to the teeshirt we reported on him wearing earlier (above).
El Fanboy goes on: “They’re working on something cool for SDCC [San Diego Comic Con] 18, related to LOD. They want to continue planting seeds and building momentum for the team. Things will be generally quiet on the DC front until Aquaman hype begins, but I can tell you that there will be another LOD tag at end of that.”
Anyone who knows the LoD will know that they are an ever evolving and revolving group of super villains that team up in the comics to hassle the world’s heroes – it was recently featured in the Legends of Tomorrow series.
With Suicide Squad having established a few villains already, as well as others references and appearing in other movies, we can’t help but feel that there’s no limit to what villains we may see down the line – we know Black Adam is coming in the form of Dwayne Johnston and if Flashpoint happens then we may well see Reverse Flash.
