OK, so unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years you probably know of the X-Men universe show Legion, the story of David and the Shadow King. Well as it turns out, Noah Hawley, creator of Legion, has been working on a Doctor Doom movie.
Now yes I know, every time anyone even tries to touch the Fantastic Four franchise it blows up in smoke, the only character worth playing is Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, and that’s only because the two most recent actors to play them have been recast into the MCU as Captain America and Killmonger.
So with the project being done, unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that its’s coming out, at least not right away.
In an interview with Deadline, Hawley had this to say about the project: “I need to circle back to them and announce that I would love to make it and figure out if that’s something that is possible. Whether or not they already have a plan in place for what to do with those characters or whether they’re open to my kind of vision for what to do with those characters. But it’s sort of on me right now to go push them, which I will do as soon as I come up for air.”
Just based off how much I love Legion and Hawley’s other project Fargo, I’d really love to see his version of Doctor Doom, also looking back at Comic Con there was no news of a Fantastic Four movie, meaning that they could have been waiting to see how long this took and use this as their introduction, do it through Doctor Doom instead of the four.
Either way, this is something that could possibly save the Fantastic Four from the deluge of hate that they have been getting over the last decade.
