Yup, we’re still running the Deadpool stories because, frankly, everyone loves him right now… and that’s just fine with us.

Two bits of info about the now inevitable Deadpool 2 for you tonight, folks.

First up, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, will be returning to the sequel and have been talking about how they are approaching the story and if there’s any particular run of the character they’ll be drawing on.

Here’s what they said: “It’s how we went about the first one, you know? We dove into all of the runs, and then, you know, fell in love with the character and the tone and the texture. Then we set down the comics and came up with our own storyline, and I think we’ll do the same for the second one.”

More-so than any character, this approach if probably best for Deadpool as the character is just that scatter shot – that’s not a bad thing, he’s just, you know, different.

As for X-Force? Well, that movie will involve them too, s what they told The Playlist: “We will have a hand in it. I think everything that ‘Deadpool’ is involved in we will have a hand in and it’s a universe that Ryan [Reynolds] and us are very close to and very protective of, so I do think we would absolutely involved in that franchise as well. If it’s Deadpool related, I think you’ll see some of our fingerprints on that,” said Wernick.

Next up, we all know the Cable will be in the sequel, SPOILER ALERT: Deadpool told us in the first movie! SPOILERS END, but now we’re hearing another familiar face may be appearing too: Domino (above).

Domino, AKA Neena Thurman, in the comics was part of Cable’s mercenary team: Six Pack, so it would certainly make sense we might see her here.

The character is a soldier who manipulates probability (Douglas Adams would love her), which essentially means she’s really, really lucky – now tell us that doesn’t seem like a natural for for Deadpool?

Also, Vanessa, Deadpool’s love interest in the movie, played by the always beautiful Morena Baccarin, is a mutant in the comics called Copycat. She can shape shift – sort of like Mystique – and in The New Mutants #98 in 1991, her first appearance had her mimicking… guess who?

Yep, Domino.

Now, if that don’t just take the biscuit…

PS given that they completely changed Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s powers and appearance for Deadpool – in the comics she’s a telepath (who looks like the image below), not able to through bolts of power (they had to get permission from Marvel for that as they needed someone with that ability and really loved her name), it’s possible they might change Domino… but we doubt it somehow.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
