Director jumping from Warner’s Nightwing to Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons?

February 22nd, 2018 by Marc 1 Comment

With the news breaking earlier that Joss Whedon has stepped down from making the Batgirl movie at Warners, we can add that another big member of the Bat Family will also not be appearing any time soon.

Nightwing.

Yes, The LEGO Movie director Chris McKay has entered talks with Paramount to direct the Dungeons & Dragons movie, which will be part of their big new shared universe series (here) written by Michael Gillio.

It seems that Warners have been deciding on how big a priority Nightwing was and it seems it’s not that big a one: With Nightwing less of a priority for Warner Bros., McKay found himself with an open slot, and Paramount made a play for him to direct Dungeons & Dragons — an idea that the director has sparked to, according to sources.

With the news that the Joker standalone is likely to film soon (here) and with Batgirl now in trouble, we have to question if the DC Cinematic is really in the trouble we hope it isn’t

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
