With all the recent activity on the X-Force front, and since you guys all loved my choice for Batman, I figured its time I do another Fan Cast. So we all know that a new X-Force movie is in the works. We know that X-Force creator Rob Liefeld said via Twitter that both Cable and Deadpool would be a part of the roster, saying, “I can pretty much eliminate some sites suggestion that the Milligan X-Statix stuff is in the mix. An X-Force film is #Cable. Is #Deadpool.” Now as far as who should play these two roles Rob tweeted, “Ryan Reynolds is DEADPOOL! Cable could be many”. Now I am not really going to touch on Deadpool and who should play him because Rob Liefeld said so himself, Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool, and I ain’t arguing with him (Ask DC, it’s pointless- editor’s note.).
So my fellow nerds, that brings us to Cable, and I am here to lend you my opinion on who I think should play the role. None other then …wait for it …wait for it …Ray Stevenson.
That’s right ,The Punisher himself. Now I know what you’re probably thinking, he can’t be Cable, he’s Volstagg. How can he play another Marvel character? Quite simple because he can, he has already played two marvel characters, The Punisher, which I thought he killed at (no pun intended) and most recently Volstagg in the Thor movies (and since the X-Films are in a different universe than the Marvel films, it should be okay- editor’s note). I personally feel that the third time’s the charm. Ray has the perfect look and stage presence to play the larger than life badass, Cable. I mean, hello, he played Frank Castle remember? He deserves a block buster lead movie role and what better platform than a Marvel (FOX Studios) superhero role. He is an incredible actor with a wealth of diverse films under his belt. He is a big enough draw to star as Cable and he is probably wouldn’t ask for the moon money wise. I think it’s a win-win for Fox Studios to bring him on as the man from the future. So there you have it my fellow nerds my choice for Cyclops’s baby boy, Cable.
Oh and just to back me, Rob Liefeld agrees with me.
