GHOSTBUSTERS DAY 2022: Jason Reitman promising more big news coming today…

June 8th, 2022 by Marc Comments

Every June 8th we Ghostbusters fans, collectively known as ‘Ghostheads’ gather around our TVs and computers to mark the anniversary of the release of the greatest franchise of all time, Ghostbusters.

Today marks the 39th anniversary of the release of the 1984 original and with Ghostbusters: Afterlife less than a year old and more Ghostbusters movies on the horizon, it’s a great time to be one of those fans.

Just a while ago, to mark the occasion, we learned that a new Ghostbusters animated series was being developed by Afterlife writers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan (here) and while that has us very, very excited, it seems there’s more news on the way.

Taking to social media, Afterlife director and co-writer Jason Reitman took to social media to thank the fans for their love of the franchise and that over the course of the day, there’s going to be a few more big reveals and bits of news.

We’re hoping on a movie announcement following on from this news a few weeks back, but whatever it is, we’re already excited.

Check the video of Reitman below:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
