In what is probably the least surprising rumour of all time, it looks like Daniel Craig… really wants to come back to Bond. Nah, only kidding, it seems he’s done with the role for good.
Shocker, right?
So The Daily Mail (we know, we know) says undisclosed sources claim that Craig has turned down a £68 million deal that would’ve seen him star in two more Bond pictures.
Oof! That’s a lot of money, Daniel!
Craig famously said after SPECTRE was finished and rumours of new casting began to emerge: “Look, I don’t give a f#@k. Good luck to them! All I care about is that if I stop doing these things we’ve left it in a good place and people pick it up and make it better. Make it better, that’s all.”
The bookies, meanwhile, are still favouring Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston, to take over the role, not that means anything as a few weeks ago it was Tom Hardy, so, you know…
Make of it what you will, but if there’s any trth to be found here, it’s that Craig is unlikely to return as 007.
Thoughts?
UPDATE:
The BBC are reporting: “Daniel Craig hasn’t yet decided on whether he wants to do another Bond movie. Reports in the past 24 hours have suggested that the actor, who’s starred in four 007 movies, has turned down a deal to make any more films in the series.
“But separate, authoritative Bond sources have independently confirmed to BBC News that Craig hasn’t made any decision about his future as 007, and that “no decision is likely to be made for a while”.
Hmmmm…. so there may be life in the old boy yet?
