We’ve been excited for the arrival of the DC Animation adaptation of The Killing Joke for ages and now and, finally, we get an idea of how Joker might look in the tale…
Now DC Animation Conceptual Artist Phil Bourassa has shared an image of a Joker he worked on for an earlier attempt to adapt Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s definitive tale of Batman and Joker with Bruce Timm.
And it may suggest the movie will be headed towards that R-Rating… well, after Deadpool they all are, aren’t they?
Anyway, here’s what he had to say: “Two weeks into the project we were told to stop development because Watchmen had underperformed at the box office and WB had lost faith in R-rated superhero movies.
“Happy to say that you guys are gonna finally get your animated Killing Joke adaptation in 2016. Apparently enough money has been made from superhero movies and adaptations of comics of every stripe that it now transcends the previously assumed limitations of the genre. It’s a good time to be a comic geek!”
It certainly is a good time for guyd and gals like us… with Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy likely signed on as Joker and Batman, this could be THE DC movie to look forward to.
