Ok, so we all knew when Flash appeared to Bruce Wayne in Batman V Superman that, while many were confused, it was DC’s way of saying they we’re for messing around… the DC Comic universe was officially up for the taking.
And, let’s be honest, if you know anything about comics, you’ll know that Flash travelling in time is a big part of the DC story lines, especially the big ones like The Flashpoint Paradox, the storyline that sees Flash changing the timeline and, as a ripple of that, Bruce Wayne dies on the fateful night his parents were attacked and, as a result, Thomas Wayne becomes Batman; a scarier, meaner Batman than the one we all know.
And, as fate would have it, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, talking about Batman V Superman and The Walking Dead (he plays Negan, remember) was asked by a fan if he’d like to play the older, Thomas Wayne version of Batman and his answer? “Man, I would love to play that Batman… It would be very cool… Flashpoint would be very cool.”
The actor goes on to say he’s been asking Zach Snyder for a bigger role in the DC Cinematic universe, hinting that the Flashpoint Batman may, at some point, actually y be on the cards: “Man, I would love it. I would definitely love it”.
Wether it ever happens is unknown and, while we would love to see it, we really can’t see it happening. The actor’s full comments are in the three videos at the bottom of the page if you want to check it out.
However, in another strange twist of fate, in The CW DC TV Universe, Flash point is officially happening this October when The Flash returns!
IF you remember at the end of season 2 Barry finally broke and went back in time and saved his mum from the murderous hands of Zoom… and anyone who knows anything about time travel stories will know this isn’t a good idea, no matter how good it seems.
And Grant Gustin who plays the Flash/Barry Allen tweeted earlier today:
FLASHPOINT. This is not drill. https://t.co/nzq2NJh9pl

It also seems the first episode of season 3 will be called Flashpoint. Next season will be very interesting indeed…
