While the DC Cinematic Universe may draw plans for a Justice League Dark movie, DC Entertainment seem to have jumped in first with an animated movie.
The British Board of Film Classification have a new listing Batman: The Killing Joke and in the additional material section they have included A Sneak Peak at Justice League Dark.
Justice League Dark was part of DC’s New 52 initiative and starred John Constantine, Zatanna, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Enchantress and Shade the Changing Man. The team were a sort of Justice League meets Suicide Squad, wherein a bunch a anti-heroes teamed up and became heroes.
The live action version of the movie was going forward under visionary director Guillermo Del Toro, who was forced to stand down. Not it’s up for finding a new director and was looking Colin Farrell to star as John Constantine. It looks like it’s still stuck in development hell for now, so we’re more than happy to go with the animated movie while we wait for the DC Cinematic version.
DC’s animation arm is doing great work, so this is one to look forward to…
