Leaked image may reveal Han, Lando, Chewie, Kira and the Millenium Falcon from Solo: A Star Wars Story

December 27th, 2017 by Marc Comments

Well, thanks to a leaked Russian promotional image, it looks like we may have our first look at Han, Chewie, Lando and new character Kira.

And, despite talk of Alden Ehrenreich’s performance being a source of concern at Disney who are rumoured worried about how the movie will be received by fans given the mixed reaction to The Last Jedi, we have to say he certainly looks the part of the young Han Solo. Providing of course the images proves legit. Which we reckon it is…

As well as that, we’re loving the look of Donald Glover rocking it as Lando Calrissian. In the back ground we all see Emilia Clarke as new character Kira… although there’s very little to gleam from the image.

But what has us all talking here at the FTN office is the appearance of the Millenium Falcon which looks very different from the ship we’ve known and loved for the last forty years.

While we know Han has made a lot of modifications to the ship over the years, we’re guessing the pointed nose of the ship will be a nod to the ship’s supposed origins as a freight pusher (here). Although we also reckon this might undo the ship’s cameo in Revenge of the Sith (here too).

Here’s another version of the art:

In related news, it seems we may see a few familiar faces in the movie that we weren’t expecting.. well, one of them we sort of were.

Firstly, it looks like we may indeed see Boba Fett in the movie as a new LEGO version of the character has appeared with modified arms – will he look a big different if he does appear?

The LEGO sets are due in April 2018.

Next up, a leaked listing of the next wave of Black Series figures, mostly based on Solo, has an interesting addition: Grand Moff Tarkin.

Could Peter Cushing’s uber-villain appear in the movie? Well, given the timeline and the fact that the Empire are coming to poser in the movie, it’s certainly possible but we’re not entirely convinced. Here’s the list of figures:

2x Han Solo
2x Imperial Range Trooper
1x Captain Lando Calrissian
1x Grand Moff Tarkin
1x Death Squad Commander (40th Anniv. repack)
1x Jawa (40th Anniv. repack)

We’re also hearing, according to Empire Magazine’s latest issue, that the dice from the Falcon that appeared in The Last Jedi will play a part in the Solo movie took connecting the two movies together. Which is… cool?

We’re hearing that the first wave of promos – i.e. posters and footage – is due this week or next, so stay tuned for all the new Solo news which we’ll deliver as it arrives.

Solo opens on May 25th, 2018 and stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) as Han Solo, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Kura, Woody Harrelson (True Detective) as Beckett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Thandie Newton (Westworld), and Joonas Suotamo (The Force Awakens) as Chewbacca. The film is directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind), with a script by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back) and his son Jon Kasdan (The First Time).
