While it’s been on the cards for some time now, we sort of forgot about the rumoured Logan’s Run remake. Until now.

Warner’s have been trying to get their remake of the 1976 movie where the character of Logan learns a deadly secret about the future society they live in and goes on the run to expose the lie that everyone is being told, while being hunted by government operatives called Sandmen. The original starred Micheal York and a very beautiful Jenny Agutter and was based on  William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson’s novel of the same name.

Now Bioshock creator Ken Levine’s script – once touted to star Ryan Gosling – has apparently been rewritten to make Logan a female this time out.

While this does seem to be something of a modern trend, we don’t really see any reason why it shouldn’t work; afterall, sci-fi has always been the home of strong female characters. Long may that last.
