More rumours suggesting that The Snyder Cut is coming to HBO Max

May 16th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Another day, another Justice League: The Snyder Cut rumour, folks…

With HBO Max launching on May 27th, it has always been the great white hope for us finally seeing the legendary cut of the movie Zack Snyder had originally wanted us to see and now the rumour is that the streaming platform will have the movie and it will be a big part of its selling point.

Now, personally, I’d imagine if this were true it would have been officially announced by now, but on with the rumour.

Apparently on the launch we will get a special preview of the movie, with the full release to come later with the teaser being “a short video of behind the scenes footage about Zack putting his project together along with a few teasers.”

“HBO, WB, AT&T, DC, and Time Warner are hoping that the hype will put HBO Max in a media frenzy, ensuring that its launch has a successful amount of subscribers and publicity. Then shortly thereafter, they plan on releasing the Snyder cut!”

But, it doesn’t end there as, according to the leak, DC/Warners have big plans for the cut and, indeed, the DCEU moving forward.

The report says that a new version of the original Crisis on Infinite graphic novel is to be released and it would feature the Arrowverse and Ezra Miller who crossed over into the Crisis On Infinite Earths Arrowverse event.

Now, don’t get me wrong, that sounds cool, but I cant help feeling it’s also very unlikely…. but I hope I’m wrong.

The report also adds that the recently released Justice League Dark: Apokolips War animated movie, which contains some elements from the Snyder vision of the DC movies, was a testing ground to see if the fans really wanted that dark of a take on the characters and, judging on the reviews (I’ve not watched it yet), they do.

And, the final part of the rumour? Well, this is a big as it gets.

It suggests that if the movie is released on HBO Max and is warmly welcomed and the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 is successful –  as it’s still the Snyder universe – then we may, wait for it, wait, waaaaaait… actually see Snyder return to theDC movies.

In fairness, this kinda ties into the recent reports that DC/Warners want Henry Cavill back as Superman.

Anyway, the report states: “They are hearing us. Keep posting on social media. Keep paying for these films, graphic novels, etc. Your support is critical to very important decisions in the coming months. Give them a reason to bring Zack back! They are open to it if they feel that there is still a huge demand to continue with his universe.”

It also suggests that delays in Snyder’s upcoming Army of the Dead were due to his taking time to work on the Snyder Cut of Justice League. Again, to be fair, we have heard that he IS working on finishing his cut and that there are plans for it.

Now, I can’t confirm any of this, but I do know that it all sounds pretty exciting IF true and, personally, I really want to see Snyder’s vision for the movie. And, yes, I would LOVE to see him return to make more movies… but coudl they also get Affleck back?

That’s all discussions for another day… but we’ll know on May 27th if there’s any truth to all of this.

Let me know your thoughts, gang.
