Lots of news coming out this week for another installment of the DCEU with the New Gods movie getting another writer, along with the announcement of who we’re gonna get with some villains.
Tom King, writer for DC’s Miracle Man, has joined Ava DuVernay as co-writer giving the ability to bring his character to the silver screen. King has done his own take on the Miracle Man comics which is primarily focused on his relationship with Big Barda, either way its always nice to get a writer that’s done the work before and it should be interesting to see what he does.
Now, what everyone wants to know… who’s coming to destroy the world?
Well, on a twitter Q&A the director confirmed that both Darkseid and the Female Furies will appear in the movie.
With mentions in both Batman V Superman and Justice League, it’s no surprise that Darkseid should be the main protagonist and it’s about time!
Darkseid is the whole reason Marvel created Thanos and the DCEU really needs that big titan-sized killer that no-one can stop. Along with the Female Furies loyal to him, it should prove to be a standoff of epic proportions, and with Big Barda being an ex-leader of the Furies it fits in really well with King’s writing.
With all the news coming out this is starting to shape up into a DC movie I might actually enjoy watching.
