For those who didn’t know, Tom &Jerry are set to return to the big screen next year in a movie for the first time since 1992… but this will be different for a few reasons.
This time out the famous cat and mouse will be animated while everyone else will be live action!
The movie will star Chloe Grace Moretz and Michael Pena but the most exciting thing, as someone who watches the original animated episodes regularly with his kids and who grew up with them, is that the designs, while done in a modern way, is a real throwback to the classic characters:
Let me know what you think of the designs – personally, I like them – but the live-action/animated combination rarely works outside of Roger Rabbit.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts, gang.
Tom & Jerry is directed by Tim Story and stars Chloe Grace Moretz as Kayla, who works with Michael Pena’s character Terrance in a hotel that Jerry ends up moving into. That’s when they enlist the help of Tom to get rid of Jerry, and chaos ensues. Pena recently spoke about how much fun he had on the set while filming and had nothing but praise for Moretz, Story, and the whole crew.
Tom & Jerry is currently slated to hit theaters on March of 2021.
