Further to reports late last year (here) that Black widow herself, Scarlett Johansson, was up for the lead in the big screen adaptation of Ghost in the shell, it looks like it’s now close to being a done deal…

The movie from Dreamworks will be directed by Rupert Sanders from a script by Bill Wheeler and tells the story of an operative of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission whose job is fighting technological crime.

Deadline Hollywood are reporting that Johansson was offered the movie a while back but was unsure about coming on board. However, sources are now reporting that she has accepted the role.

So, do you think this is a good choice? Do you even want this classic Manga adapted by an American studio?
